Keynote Speaker: Juliet Thorburn

Juliet Thorburn is an artist with Caribbean roots, who is now based in Wilmington.

She is known for her vibrant art and draws inspiration from nature, life, and spirituality, creating colorful watercolors and unique abstract styles she calls Ethereals. Her oil paintings also carry a magical, lifelike quality.

At Built Heritage Jamaica, we are thrilled to invite you to our gathering to learn from this artist, who has graciously agreed to share the story of her works and insights gained about Jamaican churches through her research for the book.

About the Book

‘A Watercolour Tribute to Historic Jamaican Churches’ by Juliet Thorburn captures Jamaica’s heritage with 14 watercolor paintings and engaging text. Blending art, history, and architecture, this coffee table book presents the beauty and stories of Jamaica’s oldest churches, offering readers a visually and culturally rich experience.
